Job Summary
Under the direction of management, monitors and enforces neighborhood and campus parking regulations. Researches DMV records, cross-references data, and takes appropriate corrective action. Assists students, staff, and other customers with parking accounts and educations them on options available. Maintains and monitors parking database to ensure accounts stay up to date, apply holds, and transfer balances. Has lead responsibilities over Parking Enforcement Specialists.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads, directs, guides and monitors the work of Parking Enforcement Specialists. Responds to request for assistance by troubleshooting and providing solutions to driver related problems. Assesses training needs and facilitates on-going training to ensure maximum effectiveness. Orients staff to department policies and procedures. Provides input on staff evaluations.
- Trains new Parking Enforcement Specialists regarding department operations, policy and procedure.
- Functions as subject matter expert regarding parking policy, enforcement procedures, systems management, and customer service practices.
- Reviews, schedules, and authorizes tows, vehicle immobilizations, late appeals, and balance adjustments.
- Provides technical direction and assistance to staff, casual employees, and student workers regarding department procedures and policy. Provides guidance and reviews the work of enforcement staff and office staff members performing collection duties to ensure department policies are followed, best practices are kept, and department objectives are met.
- Assists management in the development, implementation, and management of district wide forms, and standard operating procedures related to parking enforcement, appeals, and debt collection activities. Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures for district-wide department processes.
- Interprets programming scripts and performs testing of systems to determine reliability of relational databases. Searches for anomalies in programs and coordinate edits/changes with appropriate personnel. Works with IT and outside vendors such as T2 to communicate department programming needs and ensures that backend database changes are made according to specifications. Maintains database integrity through frequent monitoring and adjusting of definitions and values.
- Participates in project planning and work with users and technical staff to determine appropriate steps for project completion. Manages active projects including updating status and ensuring issues and action items are addressed.
- Performs research, data gathering activities, data analysis, and prepares reports or summaries of information for use by department staff such as citation data and call logs.
- Acts as liaison between Transportation and the Office of Student Conduct and Community Support and Public Safety. 听Determines when a situation needs escalation to management and initiate escalation process.
- Positions in this classification may perform all or some of the responsibilities above and all positions perform other related duties as assigned.
- Provides guidance and direction to Casual Enforcement Analyst and Casual Parking Enforcement Specialists as needed.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work is generally performed in an office setting. May be exposed to a video display for long periods. Work pressure and interruptions occur on an ongoing basis.
听Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of experience working in a customer service related position, including one year of lead experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
听Knowledge of:
Personal computers and associated standard office software including word processing, spreadsheets and database applications; customer service standards and principles; mathematical skill; basic mathematical calculations; and recordkeeping procedures.
