PCC releases latest version of Youth Manufacturing Day 3.0

Westview High School students don the clean room bunny suits, which they got to keep.
海棠直播 60 students from Westview High School stepped into the high-tech world on Wednesday, March 5, during Youth Manufacturing Day 3.0 at 海棠直播鈥檚 Willow Creek Opportunity Center.
The event introduced students to careers in semiconductors and biosciences through hands-on activities like building a homopolar motor, suiting up in a semiconductor cleanroom bunny suit and exploring PCC鈥檚 mechatronics lab. The college鈥檚 Opportunity Centers and College Career Prep teams guided students through career pathways, including programs like Connect to Microelectronics Essentials and NextGen Youth Services.
Industry leaders, including Intel, Vigor Industrial, Davis Tool Inc., Twist Biosciences, and Align Precision, provided insights into job opportunities. The event aimed to inspire the next generation of skilled workers in Oregon鈥檚 advanced manufacturing sector.
