Welcome to JPN101 海棠直播 Cascade Campus!

This course is an introduction to Japanese language and culture for students with no prior experience in Japanese language. You will learn the four basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, to cultivate communicative competence in Japanese.

In this 5-credit course, you will attend class twice weekly (M/W, 2:00 – 4:20 PM). Research suggests that students should spend approximately 2 hours outside of class for every credit hour to be successful, so you will be expected to study and complete activities and assignments outside of class accordingly.

Attendance is required for this course. Students will interact with each other and participate in learning activities both inside and outside of class to build a supportive learning community. Technology

This is an in-person class, and we will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays on the Cascade campus. You will be required to access D2L (Desire2Learn) to submit all your homework electronically, so you will need access to the internet and a computer or tablet.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
