Details about this class

Instructor to provide the following at start of class:

  • Bluebeam software license and download instructions
  • Bluebeam Student Guide (this is the required textbook) and access to Bluebeam University
  • Electronic PDF building construction plans and documents for course

Technology

Required Technology:

  • Laptop or computer. Computer must have a Windows based Operating System, not a Chromebook or Mac.
  • A Mac may potentially work if you install a third party Windows emulator such as Parallels and you are proficient in its use. The instructor cannot assist with Mac or Chromebook issues.
  • Bluebeam software license (instructor provided at start of class)
  • Monitor that is capable of viewing large format plans - see optional configurations below.
  • Mouse with scroll wheel.
  • Webcam with microphone.

Optional Technology:

  • Large screen monitor for viewing plans (while this is not a requirement it does make it much easier to view large format electronic plan sets. While a dual monitor setup is optimal, some students find success with the following configurations):
    • Minimum: Computer with single 24-inch or 27-inch monitor
    • Minimum: Dual 24-inch monitors
    • Functional: Dual 27-inch monitors** (this is my setup)
    • Functional: Laptop monitor with additional single 30” or 32” monitor
  • **NOTE: Some computers, and particularly laptops, struggle with the ability of video cards to power and render images on screen. Check and verify product specs before making assumptions. Standard resolutions should suffice for viewing content for this class. Larger screens may be candidates for higher resolutions. If planning to connect to an additional monitor, ensure cabling ports are complementary between the computer/laptop and monitor (like HDMI or USBC-3).

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
