Work study
For students
2026-27: award information for the 2026-27 aid year is expected to be available starting mid-June 2026 and can be viewed on your Financial Aid Dashboard in . Once you get your award letter, check it to see if the work study award is listed. If you don’t see it, complete the to double-check your eligibility.
If you鈥檝e been awarded work study, you can start applying for work study positions on the Panther Works job board. To access the job board, log in , go to the Paying for College tab, and click Check the student job board link in the Need a job section.
For supervisors
2026-27: you must have an approved work study position for the 26-27 academic year to employ work study students. See how to request a work study position. Positions can be submitted beginning May 11, 2026.
Keep in mind that employing work study students requires active supervision, continued training, and scheduling that accommodates the student鈥檚 academic commitments. Supervisors are also responsible for tracking hours to ensure employees do not exceed their work study allocation. Once a work study employee is identified, confirm that the student has work study eligibility before reporting the hire. See more about hiring a work study student. If work study is not listed on their award letter, email workstudy@pcc.edu with the student鈥檚 name and G# and we will check eligibility.
2025-26 students and supervisors: the last day for students to receive a work study award for Spring term is May 22, 2026. The job board for 2025-26 closes on May 22, 2026.
What is work study?
The Federal Work-Study Program聽provides part-time jobs for students with聽financial need. In many ways, work study jobs are like normal part-time jobs – you have job duties, get regular paychecks, and use the money to pay for educational expenses.聽But these jobs have additional perks:
- Flexible schedules: employers know that being a student is your top priority
- Good jobs: jobs that can lead to long-term positions and look great on resumes
- Decreased debt: earn instead of borrowing in order to graduate with less debt
How do I get work study?
Work study is part of federal financial aid, so to get a work study job, you must first apply for financial aid. To qualify for federal work study, you must be eligible to complete a FAFSA. ORSAA students are not eligible for work study. International Students are also not eligible for work study.
How to access your work study
Only students who have been awarded work study should complete this orientation. To see if you have been awarded work study, look at the award letter in your Financial Aid Dashboard.
